Trees Please on OurWinnipeg2045 and Complete Communities 2.0

Trees Please made a submission to and spoke at the recent public hearings on the draft OurWinnipeg 2045 and Complete Communities 2.0, two master planning documents for the City of Winnipeg. We support the urban forestry-related policies in the plans and have proposed additional policies to strengthen the city’s commitment to the urban forest.

You can read our submission and see news coverage of the hearings, including a quote from Trees Please Winnipeg Coalition member Emma Durand-Wood here:  Green space hot topic of Winnipeg development reports (Winnipeg Free Press, May 14, 2021)

“We’re really happy to see the plans include a policy to leverage green infrastructure. We’re glad to see that a tree protection bylaw for major open spaces is a high priority for implementation.”
