Between 2001 and 2019, “Winnipeg’s ratio of green areas relative to population size dropped to 38 per cent, while cities such as Toronto and Edmonton stood at 70 per cent and 60 per cent, respectively, as of 2019. In other words, Winnipeg is now a lot greyer and browner, compared to most other major Canadian cities, than it was in 2001.”
