Join tree-focused Winnipeggers to develop a strategy to encourage our City representatives to prioritize trees for the benefit of all communities, organized by Trees Please Winnipeg.

Where: 180 Poplar Avenue, Elmwood (ample street parking available, easy bus route access)
Who should come? All community members who want to help elect a city council that prioritizes trees for our city’s long-term health.
Who is presenting?
Martha Barwinsky: City of Winnipeg’s Chief Forester, presenting the facts on the current health of Winnipeg’s tree canopy.
Erna Buffie: Trees Please leader presenting on the history and future of citizen advocacy for trees and their wide-ranging benefits for our environment.
Charles Feaver: Trees Please strategist presenting “Trees Please Pledge 2026” and municipal strategy for discussion.
Our goal:
To develop a political campaign in concert with other tree-focused community groups, inviting people running for council to prioritize trees, with ongoing and future efforts to protect and replenish Winnipeg’s urban canopy.
